Now that I finally feel secure in who I am as a person and as a queer man, I have started to think about dating as an Ft M (Trans Man). For a long time, I had not really felt secure in who I was, let alone confident enough to ask someone out.

Over the past several years, I have done my best to figure it out, although it still remains somewhat shrouded in mystery.

In my case (and perhaps for many trans folks), going online for potential romance felt like a safe first step in cultivating my new, authentic self—in being able to reach out to others as the man that I was and am.

Plus, since I live in a small community, there aren’t many opportunities to date and less of a selection of potential partners.
